MANIFEST

‘When people chant from Palestine to Mexico, all walls must come down’, it’s not just a slogan. It’s a shared reality of colonization and corporate exploitation that translates into a common struggle for collective liberation. We are an artistic collective by and for the marginalized peoples and genders of the global South.

The global South is rising, heralding the end of neo-colonialism. It’s time to heed the preface of the wretched of the earth*; revolution is our imperative.

We speak out against a history shaped by oppressors. We aspire to become the narrators of the story for generations to come. We are the artisans of a new lineage, the ancestors of the future.

After the second Nakba, we refuse to collaborate with complicit criminal institutions. Palestine liberates our people, revealing the masks of so-called humanists. We will be our own institution, engaged in the struggle to liberate our lands and minds through art.

Our presence here is rooted in the colonial legacy of forced migration orchestrated by those who sowed the seeds of colonization. We express our legitimate right and highlight the intrinsic flaws that persist in the systems of supremacy within the countries of the North. We seek to deconstruct the myth of Western civilization, underlining the need to rethink the historical narratives that underpin our presence here.

Western feminism does not dictate our values. Our sisterhood is rooted in the South, where sharing is sacred, and female solidarity is a primitive heritage. We challenge the legitimacy of the mechanism of violence, oppression and power that symbolizes a profoundly unequal order. Our mission is to abolish capitalism, raise awareness, and offer a place to those who are marginalized and under-represented.

In our struggle for liberation, we emphasize the crucial importance of intersectionality, overturning the vestiges of colonialism to achieve a transformative and collective liberation, because no one can claim freedom until everyone has access to it. The representation of marginalized genders stands as a beacon denouncing the repressive laws that persist in the countries of the South, an indelible legacy of colonialism.

We reject any instrumentalization of our sexualities and our struggles to serve the policies of Northern countries. In so doing, we affirm our autonomy in the quest for justice and equality. Art is a powerful tool for changing mentalities. Our collective is a space of enduring resistance, preserving our collective memory while celebrating our individuality, a founding element of our common and communal identity.

Our collective is not just a space, it’s a movement, ideas that can never be dissolved. We are the children of the Global South, reclaiming our place, refusing to give thanks for crumbs and claiming our dignity.

In our collective, each artist is respected as an individual. Transparency, respect for working time and the evolution of each artist are fundamental values.

Together, let’s sow revolutionary love, transcending divisions and rewriting history for the justice of the oppressed. Let’s cultivate an ‘Us’ beyond the boundaries of race and gender, working towards their abolition.

Together, we wield our exclusion, our barbarity, and our incivility. We take each other’s hands to restore balance. The international community speaks to us about humanity, but its hands are stained with the blood of ours. We are here to change this reality.
